This exciting role offers opportunity to:

  • This position is part of a team developing next generation powertrain embedded control systems.
  • As a key member of the team, you will help define requirements, contribute to definition of electronics hardware design, design embedded system software architecture and algorithm solutions, define test plans and perform validation testing to confirm that system and functional requirements are met.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for working with team members and your engineering manager to estimate development, resources and timing to achieve the desired results.
  • You will have the opportunity to be mentored and trained by senior level embedded controls engineers and software architects to help grow your overall expertise and you will be expected to train and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • You will work with engineers located in other locations in the U.S., India and China.Champion continuous process improvements to support the Eaton Business Systems like performance evaluation, DFSS, FMEAs.


  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics / Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • Desired: Master’s Degree in Electronics / Electronics and Communication Engineering with Controls
  • Minimum 10 years of embedded systems firmware & controls design experience.
  • Extensive years of experience in C/C++
  • Strong knowledge of Embedded Systems & SDLC
  • Familiarity with control and signal processing techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of Matlab and Simulink Stateflow environments.
  • Experience with Complex control algorithms and simulation techniques to evaluate alternate concept designs.
  • Strong background in memory and resource-constrained real-time embedded environments.
  • Led the development and delivery of at least two real-time embedded control products.
  • Expertise with Controller Area Networks (e.g. SAE-J1939, CANOpen)
  • Expertise with Vector tools such as CANape and CANalyzer.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience in, or knowledge of automotive drivetrain/powertrain systems and components.
  • Experience working with HILS environment like dSPACE, ETAS.
  • Analytical Modeling of dynamical systems.
  • Awareness of DFSS tools like FMEA.FMECA, Monte Carlo Analysis etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with change management experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in Matlab/Simulink/RT-Workshop tools
  • Some knowledge of various software specification and design tools such as UML.
  • Experience with Jazz platform for managing change requests.
  • Knowledge of Requirement management tools preferably DOORS.
  • Experience with automotive power electronics controls and software.
  • Experience with Inverter electronics and motor controls
  • Familiar with application software such as motor controls, global charging standards (EN, IEC, SAE, GB / GBT)
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR
  • Experience with electric vehicle components like Inverters, DC DC Converters , Chargers & PDUs
  • Full V-cycle SW experience (Requirements, Design, Implementation, Validation).
