Job Description Summary
The role is responsible for driving behavioral change of Commercial teams in GE Grid Solutions (GS) through impactful, efficient & (self-) service friendly incentive compensation (SIC). By closely partnering with senior leaders it is managing all aspects of Sales Incentive Compensations (SIC) plans in global Regions, including design, analysis, strategic planning, communications, administration, issue resolution & improvement, geared towards business growth and winning and retaining talent in the region.Job Description

  • Provide strategic direction for SIC as thought leader & subject matter expert to Sales & PL Leaders, HR & Finance in dvlpt. of SIC Plans, processes, pay cycles & administration, to maximize business goals impact and to assure accurate/timely payment
  • Lead simplification of plans, calculations and # of plans
  • Quality-manage that SIC system is implemented, communicated/ understood; proactively influence & coordinate related activities
  • Drive usage of SIC automation & Self-Services (Xactly), incl. flexible reporting/ digital dashboards/eSignature & ePayment, in joint collaboration with Com. Systems/Tools
  • Participate in the annual Operating Plan (OP) roll-up & release process to assure efficiency & consistency of SIC Plans
  • Liaise with Com. Analytics to provide critical insight into plan effectiveness & related product/activity metrics
  • Provide senior management with up-to-date reports & analytics, e.g. variance to SIC budget, Orders and Margin, sales performance analysis & impact related metrics
  • Organize, coordinate, and actively attend SIC Board meetings for critical milestone decision
  • Provide Issue Resolution, also in terms of auditable procedures
  • Drive administrative consistency, e.g. for pay calculation process, issue resolution & escalation & statements/reporting
  • Maintain strong controllership & governance by working with HR, Legal, Finance, and HR C&B; to ensure policy compliance
  • Help to further improve impact of SPIFs, et al.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market practices relevant to SIC trends & design, enable best practices as change opportunities


  • University degree or relevant experience
  • Commercial practice, esp. in-/direct sales
  • Related work experience in Project Management or Incentive Comp. (IC), finance, sales operations, and/or HR C&B;
  • Track record of work with CRM & related IT/apps., e.g.: SFDC, Bus. Objects, Excel data compilation & aggregation
  • Superior interpersonal, oral/written communication, collab. & tactful diplomacy skills to also deliver difficult messages

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven direct IT work experience in an environment with automated commission payments (Xactly, Calludus, etc.)
  • ‘Wing-to-Wing’-background in deal making processes
  • Strong analytic skills, linking them to solving problems/to derive meaningful conclusions, with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to make independent decisions, and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment with agility
  • Experience in successfully leading cross-functional projects and process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas
  • Graduate of GE’s Leadership Programs (e/CLP, FMP, CAS…)
